To Monterey and Watsonville via the Big Sur

Headed up the coast via the Big Sur, more an area than a specific place.  Rugged headlands and majestic views. Found an elephant seal colony.  Morning tea was at a quirky roadside diner seeming in the middle of nowhere.  After the long winding drive we arrived at Monterey to see the world class aquarium.  This is the beginning of a long weekend for many Americans as Monday is Columbus day, celebrating the third person to discover America (after an indian from Siberia and Scandinavians from across the Atlantic.)

Spent a night in Watsonville, caught the movies (Gravity) resupplied, and hightailed it out of there the next morning.  Seems a slightly seedy area, I was advised not to hang around.
