San Francisco to Mariposa

We drove around San Fran to catch a last couple of sites, then headed east cross country towards the Sierra Nevada range, landing in Mariposa, about 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley.  We've been told that although the Federal Government has closed all national parks (how do you close public land?) we may be able to drive into the valley to see the sites from the road. Here's hoping.
Mariposa is a gem. A quaint rural mountain town with great atmosphere, good affordable accommodation and great food.

Broadway st, looking down, very steep

Like this steep, be hard to cycle up

Crowds at the top of Lombard St (steep zig zag street)

People risk life and limb just to photo the street

Cross country towards the Sierras, very parched and hazy
